WA stamp duty

Western Australia Stamp Duty Calculator

Western Australia's transfer duty is administered by RevenueWA in the Department of Treasury and Finance. The first home owner rate has changed three times since May 2024, so the contract date matters a lot here.

Rules from WA Department of Treasury and Finance (RevenueWA), last reviewed 7 November 2026.

  • First home owners: nil duty on homes to $600,000 for contracts from 7 May 2026
  • First home owner rate up to $800,000 for homes and $550,000 for land
  • Different caps in Perth/Peel and regional WA from March 2025 to May 2026
  • 7% foreign transfer duty on residential property
